Hot mics get just about everyone in trouble. Seriously. We’ve seen over the years any number of people exposed by saying something in front of a microphone they didn’t realize was live. Think Barack Obama telling a Russian official that he would have a lot more flexibility after the next election.
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, she of “you have to pass the bill to find out what’s in it” fame, got caught in exactly the same sort of scenario Monday evening on the steps of the Supreme Court. Not realizing that while the podium mic wasn’t working, that the people there holding up cell phones and other cameras did have open and hot mics…well, she said something she shouldn’t.
Pelosi, who was attending a protest of President Trump’s temporary immigration ban outside the Supreme Court, introduced Rep. Andre Carson, D-Ind. She introduced him as a “Muslim member of Congress.”
He addressed the crowd, and Pelosi quietly told him, “Tell them you’re a Muslim. Tell them you’re a Muslim.”
Don’t know if Nimrod Nancy knows this, but that modifier doesn’t exactly demonstrate impartiality when it comes to the seven nation enhanced vetting executive order – especially when it was being billed a “muslim ban” when in fact it was not.
Carson is one of a handful of lawmakers on Capitol Hill who follow Islam. One of the others, Rep. Keith Ellison of Minnesota, is challenging for the head of the Democratic National Committee. These men and women have quietly entered the halls of power within the United States and are poised to potentially begin impressing their beliefs and legal ideals on the rest of us.
With Nancy Pelosi, Baptized Catholic and practicing something other than orthodox Catholicism, telling the congresscritters to use their status as muslims as a selling point…those who know the last 1300 years of world history are not happy.
