Hillary Clinton Being Stabbed in the Back

With the election just over a week away, Hillary Clinton is now facing what may be her worst challenge yet. Back in July this writer predicted that at the last moment, Hillary would be thrown under the bus by Obama and the party and good old Uncle Joe Biden would step up to save the election. I do have to admit that I really thought the move would come just prior to the convention, but it appears on that I was wrong.

But now, there is a growing movement in the media and political circles demanding that the Ice Queen give up her hard won designation as the Democrat Nominee. And before you think this is just a murmur from the right, yesterday a demand that she step down came from no less than the pillar of the Democrat Party, the venerated Chicago Tribune. Yes that’s right the mouth piece of the Chicago political machine that brought you Barack Obama, has all but demanded that Hillary step down in favor of someone else with less legal baggage.

It would appear that Hillary Clinton has now found another glass ceiling to break. No, not as the first woman candidate, but as the first candidate of any gender to be under federal investigation on Election Day. Now she is the first major party candidate to be called on to step aside just a week before Election Day. And it is the left-leaning publications and organizations that are making the demand. Even taking away the voice of the mighty Chicago Tribune.

The liberal Left seems to be stuck in a mire of questions like; What if she is elected? Talk about a moral killer, think of a nation suffering a bad economy and continuing chaos in the Middle East, and then just after election, it’s first woman President is indicted on federal charges and must resign in disgrace. Add to that several assorted congressional investigations and a public vision of Clinton as a Nixonian figure wandering the halls, wringing her hands when she should be waiting for that 3:00 a.m. phone call.

Many political power brokers feel that the best thing for all concerned would be for Democrats to ask her to step down now. They feel that it would be the most responsible thing to do, if the nation were more important to them than power, that is. Meanwhile, the American news media, despite mammoth efforts on their part to identify her in the public mind as everyone’s sweet little old grandmother, seems to be falling short in their mission. Many feel that Mrs. Clinton’s political action committee should not be asking her to step down, but rather they should be demanding it. But what will Hillary do?

Meanwhile, Conservatives are having a hard time containing themselves over the recent turn of events. They have spent 8 years trying to bury the former First Lady only to have her keep returning like the Dracula character in a cheap horror movie. It is no wonder that they are elated to see that Liberals are finally waking up to the fact that Hillary would probably be the worst possible choice for the economy and the country of any candidate since Alf Landon ran against FDR in what was supposed to be a very close race, but wasn’t.

It really is Ironic that this is where Democrats find themselves. If Hillary Clinton wins, which is still possible, Democrats will still have no bench, and the head of their party will enter the White House under investigation. She is such a weak candidate that she has the second highest unlikability rating of any candidate to run for office. Her only saving grace is that she is unlikely to arrange an “accident” for Donald Trump to insure her victory. But at this point in time, even that may not be a sure thing.
