Was God Speaking to Dollywood After The Wildfire?
By now most of you will have heard about the wildfires burning in Tennessee, but was God speaking to the cleanup crew at Dollywood after the fire?
Dollywood, Dolly Parton’s theme park in Tennessee was one of many places threatened by the raging wildfire’s in the state. Unlike a lot of places the park was largely untouched by the tragedy. That’s not to say there isn’t a lot of clean up to be done at he park. Something strange caught the eye of one worker.
A single sopping wet page from the Bible found under a park bench. Was this a message? perhaps a sign of sorts?
Isaac McCord was working clean up duty after the close call on Tuesday. That’s when he noticed the page from the good book. The page was soaked and badly burned, but still offered what some would call inspiration in a time of need in Tennessee.
The verses on the page were from the book of Joel and many described the day of destruction. Some seemed full of despair while other gave startling insight in to the recent events.
Joel 1:19 was one of those verses and it reads:
“To you, Lord, I call for fire has devoured the pastures in the wilderness and flames have burned up all the trees of the field.”
Scary coincidence? or Sign from God?
Now I’m no biblical scholar, I don’t pretend to be. However the verses found on that burned Bible page bare a striking relativity to the wildfire’s currently being battled across the state.
Was this some sort of sign of things to come from God?
I could sit here and preach to you, telling you it is a sign and that we should all be aware of the times we live in. I’m not that guy. what you choose to believe is your business.
As for McCord, he says he plans on framing the page. Preserving the memory and its message.
Ultimately your take on the burned page is just that, yours. But the fact that this page in particular showed up after a devastating fire could defiantly be viewed in many different ways.
