CNN’s Anderson Cooper appeared on “The Late Show” Monday and told host Stephen Colbert that he has “muted” Trump on Twitter, which lets him remove the president’s tweets from his timeline without unfollowing him.
“You just said that you mute the President of the United States,” said Colbert incredulously.
“I just don’t want to have that drama in my life,” the CNN anchor who professes to be a journalist said.
Colbert went on to say that though Trump’s tweets are a “large distraction,” they also offer a fascinating peak into the presidency.
“This is like a real-time seismograph of the inner workings of the president’s head,” said Cooper. “He’s like a live wire of emotion. We had to wait for decades to hear Nixon on tapes, we hear Donald Trump in real time.”
Twitter users immediately let Cooper know that he should not be making fun of Trump:
